The stage name she chose was Bea as a tribute to her father and published an article in The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea was fostered by her sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer and former professional racer. Their family was obsessed with racing and horses.
